Injection Rhinoplasty (or "Non-Surgical Nose Job") is a new procedure pioneered by Dr. Rivkin within the last year. He uses Restylane or Radiance to camouflage nasal deformities such as bumps, drooping tips or sideways deviations of the top of the nose. The procedure is the perfect alternative to invasive and unpredictable nasal surgery. Injection Rhinoplasty involves no pain, no bruising, no swelling and you can see the results immediately. The procedure came about from concerns that Dr. Rivkin's patients had about traditional cosmetic nasal surgery. He wanted to address their worries about the expense, pain, bruising, downtime and risks of surgery.
The risks that most concerned Dr. Rivkin's patients were: poor scarring, difficulty breathing through the nose and a bad cosmetic result. They also felt like they had no control over their procedure while under anesthesia.
The Non Surgical Nose Job is performed in the office and takes about 30 minutes. First, numbing cream is applied to the top of the nose for 10 minutes. A small amount of a filler material (Restylane or Radiance - according to the patient's preference) is then carefully injected into very precise locations on the top of the nose.
Injection Rhinoplasty can fill in depressions anywhere on the nose, smooth out sharp angles or change the angle of the tip of the nose. Although the procedure cannot reduce the size of a large nose, it will restore symmetry to the nose. A symmetric nose blends in to the rest of the face and actually appears smaller.
At various points in the procedure, Dr. Rivkin asks the patient to hold up a mirror and direct his attention to the areas about which they are concerned. About two weeks after the initial procedure, Dr. Rivkin likes to have the patient come back for a follow-up visit where he can perform a touch-up treatment if necessary. The effect of the Non Surgical Nose Job lasts about 1.5 to 2 years if Dr. Rivkin uses Radiance, or 6 to 8 months if he uses Restylane. Please see the FAQ for more information.
